  reel dvd disc burning problem

  I am running sonic reel dvd 3.1.1 with a pioneer external s706 firewire drive. Have never had a problem. Just recently when I get to the create disc image it locks up and will not allow me to burn the disc.
  Am I in need of an update??

  Any help would be greatly appriciated!!!
