Not having much luck here trying to create a HD DVD compliant DVD out of Videostudio 11. I’ve read that lots of guys have had success burning to standard DVD-R discs using the Ulead program.

I can get the 1920×1080 MPEG2 to play and burn correctly in VS but when I try to play the disc in a Toshiba HD DVD player, I get a message saying, “The disc is not DVD format”. I am trying to do the disc in 25fps as it came from a 25fps master. I’ve also reencoded the original as a 30fps master to see if that had any affect but it didn’t. Plus I need to make the disc endless looping for a show.

    Hmmm…….

HD DVD spec only allows for 29.97 video. Make sure that’s what you’re encoding.

Thanks Max, I’ll redo it at 29.97. Because my original is 25fps, I may have a problem there. I may have to see if I can find a Tivo-style kiosk media player that can loop HD through HDMI.

    Cheers,
    Peter
