  Dual-layer DVD playback compatibility?

  We have a client that wants us to author a very long video (3.3 hours, but it’s essentially 10 seperate videos) onto a DVD.. We’re thinking dual-layer is probably the best way to achieve this and I can’t really find any information regarding dual layer compatibility with most DVD players.. Most of these will be likely played back on PCs/Laptops.
  Would it be safer to do just a 2 disc DVD, or is dual layer disc playback not really a compatibility issue anymore?

  I’m assuming that you are not going to be replicating (ie. creating a glass master and pressing) the discs.
  If you are going to be just burning the discs, the compatibility level for dual-layer discs are still not that great.
  If you want to play it safe, go for the 2 disc set.

  NO…

  If possible to buy DVD+R DL disks, is no problem to record 1….10000 disks 🙂

  FULLY compatible DL disk is :
  1. DVD+R DL disk
  2. It need to be written as DVD+R DL as DVD-ROM book type
  3. NEED TO SET RIGHT layer-break sector
