Wondering, what the going rates are for compressing & authoring a 15 minute corporate program with 8 chapters and going to DVD and CD, MWV and QT?
Suggestions on the best way to bill for this, be fair, but cover time involved?
    Thanks in advance.

I typically toss this in with the cost of making the video. If it’s just for compressing and authoring- honestly anything over a few hundred bucks would be over the going rate.

If it’s your own project it’s pretty typical to include it as part of the job, like Noah said. I’ve seen rates online for companies who just do encoding and they seem to range from 3-5 dollars per minute of video encoded with a standard session fee charge per job. Usually that’s 30-50 dolloars.

I’m guessing you guys are just talking about videos that you’ve been paid to make for the client and are delivering on DVD for review, right? Otherwise I think that there are a lot of DVD authors who will be going hungry at those prices.
