I am looking for a professional DVD authoring system to use on a PC. Where I used to work, they used DVD Studio Pro to author DVDs but now I work in a new place and we use PC’s here.

Every PC based software I have seen is simplistic in comparison and I cannot make DVDs as “cool” as I can with DSP. I figure there has to be PC software out there that will let me make neat dvds with plenty of interactivity and scripting but I don’t even know where to start looking. (Well, I’ve looked on the web but I want serious authoring software!)

Any pointers, suggestions or tips would be welcome!

The new Sonic DVDit Pro 6 is great too, many great features.

On the PC, the holy grail is Scenarist (you will need a big budget).

For a fraction of the cost of Scenarist, if you need scripting and total control of your DVD’s navigation and playback, then I would also recommend DVDLab Pro (btw, I understand version 2.0 will be adding most of the remaining SD DVD spec features such as multi-angles and Buttons over Video, etc…)

    Regards,

I looked at the Scenarist page and there was no price listed (which is usually a bad sign.) Any idea how much?

Scenarist is about 22K$ for the basic version with the encoder card (SD-1000 I think), so…

DVD-lab Pro, for 199$, is a very good choice, for the price, to get most of DVD specs enabled.
