  external burner suggestions

  Hello,

  I have a PB 17″ with a 1X DVD burner. I am looking for a faster Ext. FW burner to attach and use. I have looked at the LaCie burner with LightScribe. I have read all the reviews and it seems many of the problems were pre 2006 when the product just came to market. The lightscribe, although slow, seems pretty cool. I am willing to pass on the monochromatic finish if someone has a better idea for a faster burner for under about $200.00. Does anyone have any practical experience with this hardware or another burner they would suggest to look at? I am pretty open here, as with anyone I just want it to work like it is supposed to do. Thanks for any direction or feedback.

  One other ? Is there any advant or disadvant to + or – discs being burned for customers?

  Coach,

  I’d go with either Pioneer or Plextor, they are consistently the best rated DVD burners. I’m not a big fan of Lacie products.
