  random access playback

  When playing back a dvd using a PC – either using real player or windows media player, it matters not which – some videos let you use the scroll bar to randomly access the video, other videos only let you use the chapters and the actual FF, RW buttons on the DVD player software. I use the same compression on all video files.

  Any idea what might cause this?

  Using Adobe Encore DVD authoring, but have not received any responses in that forum

  There could be pUOPS turned on — prevent user operations.

  Did you Author the DVD’s, or are they retial or from someone else?
