  Best Inkjet PrintableDVDs?

  Hey all,

  So I send out promotional DVD’s (demo reels) and the packaging I have created has a vibrent red color. I have the epson r-300 (which I love) at home, and when i use double sided matte paper the color looks really nice. However when I print onto the DVDs the color becomes very muted.

  So my question is this… which printable dvd-r has the best surface for printing on. Also do you know of any surfaces other then matte white and clear? Glossy white for instance?

  We usually use the Verbatim discs but it does give a slightly dull appearance. A while ago we tried some Maxell discs and found that they had more of a shine to them…not really glossy…but they weren’t as dull as the Verbatim ones are. Might want to give them a try.

  Hi
  Inkjet ink won’t dry on glossy discs. They are made for thermal printers such as Rimage. A Rimage Everest printer will give you what you want but the price will floor you. If you use quantities printed the same see if someone who has one will preprint them for you.

  I must say the printable surface of the Ritek/Ridata is really good.

  By default I always have to desaturate the image a little from clients
  otherwise the discs are a little wet and waisting ink when they come out.
  ideally they should be saturated enough for good color, but nearly
  all dry by the time the printing is done. I use a rimage sig 4 printer though.
