  Progessive scan dvd players?

  Can someone explain 24p dvd? I shoot with a DVX100A in 24p normal and edit in a standard 60i ntsc timeline and output to ntsc. what is the advantage of 24p dvd and how is it related to progressive scan dvd players? also, how would the footage I’m using look with a progressive scan dvd player? any different? what might I be gaining if I did a 24p dvd and what are the drawbacks?

  I guess I’m unclear how the progressive aspect of my 24p normal is being used or not used by various dvd players.
