  50i delivery shooting 23.98?

  Hey everyone,

  Thank you in advance for your time… I am on a job for a Japanese TV station which the delivery is set for 50i… I’m a bit confused because Japan is NTSC!

  If the delivery is 50i, I must shoot 25 PAL and stay away from 23.98, correct?

  Any thoughts appreciated!

  Not really.
  If you are unsure about 25i, don’t shoot it.
  You could shoot 25p, or 24p, 23.976 and 50p
  All can be used to make good quality 25, although at some speed changes.
  50p can be used to go to 25i, as well as (half frame, slowed down, added pulldown) to 29.97.
  (And it makes for nice slomo if needed.)

  But if the specs say 25i, and you don’t have problems with that, just shoot 25i or 50p.
