I was able to borrow a lens I was thinking about getting, and was trying it out. I have a project where I want to do some fast crash zooms like you see in a lot older movies. I tried with the lens, and here is the what they look like:

Unlike those crash zooms you see in older movies, the most noticeable difference is that the lens has to refocus during the zoom it seems. I don’t necessarily mind it cause it refocuses quite quickly and is done refocusing by the time the zoom is finished. But what do you think? Does the zoom that this lens can perform look good enough?

The one thing is that I wish it could zoom further for a bigger shot, in which case I might get a longer one, but what do you think?
