Clean GoPro footage
I’m surprised there aren’t many threads on this subject but I haven’t been able to find any.
GoPro’s product launch video for the Hero 4 Black looked awesome, sharp and clean. However most people who post footage from that camera on YouTube, including myself, get dirty and pixelated footage that makes the GoPro channel look like a freakin’ Alexa by comparison. What gives?
I’ve tried shooting with and without ProTune, color both flat and GoPro color. When I shoot flat I apply a LUT. All formats I post I get the same, unsatisfactory results. See links below:
Some were rendered from Premiere CC with the H.264 “Match Source High Bit Rate” setting and some with the preset Youtube 4k setting with the bitrate raised quite higher than default.
Any recommended post-production workflows, or in-camera setting suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
