  Name of a process

  Greetings to everyone. I don’t know about cinematrography or anything related. But I want to learn one step at a time. Before I ask my question, I want to ask for pacience since english is not my native language, so i will try to make my question as short and precise as possible. My question is, what is the name of the process used to convert the raw videos recorded in a film making by the cameras, to the final movie production? I am curious about the change of colors. From a live, normal video to that dark or blue-ish color that we see in a DVD or Blue ray. Thanks in advance.

  Telecine converter, or, in modern times, a film scanner. One brand name for those is Rank Cintel.
