I had asked the following question earlier but got no response. Can some one point out a Non-HD camcorder which has Optical Image Stabilization and 40-60x optical zoom? Iam looking for a low end camera 500 to 600$ is my budget.

Look for used Cannon camcorders on ebay. Cannon’s stabilization is electro-optical, servo-driven correcting lenses inside the barrel swing and tilt to counter lens movment… and many think it superior to purely digital versions that just offset the blocks of pixels. Your price range is a tad on the unrealistic side IMO for new cameras with the features you want; one of the ways they make a camera cheaper is to eliminate mechanicals like Cannon’s stabilizer, replacing them with versions executed totally in software.

On your budget, for long-distance wildlife shooting, a massive tripod/pan head, and/or sandbags draped over and under the camera/lens to dampen vibration may be what’s in your budget range.
