  5D workflow

  Hey Guys,

  Traveling out of the country and shooting on 2 – Canon 5d cameras.

  I wanted to make sure I had my ducks in a row and had a couple workflow questions –

  1) Sync – we’ll slate and clap for sync…but we’re shooting 2 cameras…is there a way to sync time code? We were talking about running an old school TC generator into the audio input and recording LTC…has anyone done this?

  2) Will the firmware update be out to shoot 29.97 by early Jan? And, if not, does the conversion from 30 to 29.97 in Cinema Tools change the clip at all? Does it speed it up by .03% ? is it noticeable?

  I can’t answer your questions as I haven’t tried any of this myself. (Although, the company I work for just asked me to start looking into DSLR video.) But I wanted to mention that the COW has a brand new forum specifically for DSLR shooting. It’s got a lot of interesting/useful information and is relatively active for a new forum.
