  quiet night shooting

  Got a shoot coming up that is a spoken word, to-camera shoot that will be outdoors. The speakers will also be walking around. I want a couple of small lights (Chinese lanterns?) to bring out, but I don’t want the noise and BULK of having a generator around mainly because it will be shot in downtown Nashville.

  Are there some practical ways to provide a portable power source? Also, are there any on-camera lights that provide enough front fill but not look terrible?

  Note: shooting with 35mm converter, so light conservation is important.

  LED lightpanels are great for this; low power draw, soft light, you could run tme off batteries.

  To answer my own question here just for general public’s sake….I did a little research and wanted to share.

  You can purchase large wattage inverters such as this one – https://www.amazon.com/Duracell-813-1500-07-Power-Source-Inverter/dp/B000U0M7MY and hook it up to a car or boat battery and presto: a quiet, portable power source! Thought I would share in case anyone runs into this in the future.
