I am currently making my first short film. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a website or book or answer some questions I have concerning using light and shadow?

First I want to tell you the kind of camera I’m using and post production. I will be using the Sony FX7 Camera and editing with Sony Vegas 8 and Excalibur plug in. I know a lot about filming, etc. I just have no idea on lighting. I will mainly be using natural lighting. I really don’t have anything specific to ask, I’m just not experienced enough on how or when to use lighting as an effective story telling tool. Setting the correct atmosphere, minimizing glare, shadows, that kind of stuff. Like I said I have no idea what I’m doing when it comes to lighting. So I need the know-how basics on experimenting.
I would greatly appreciate your help in this.

The atmosphere I’m trying to achieve with lighting is one of suspense and danger.
