In AE CS4 I’ve got a comp that uses a point light to fill the scene and another point light for highlighting which I move around.

The problem is that AE won’t let me see the effect of both lights on together. it only shows the effect of whichever light is ontop in the layer stack. the one bellow has no effect on the scene.

Could this be scene corruption or is there a setting I’ve missed somewhere?

    Thanks
    Graham

    Thanks Dave

You got me thinking on the right track and I found the problem.
I have a solid layer using the shatter effect to create some 3D text and that effect can only use the first light in the comp, (default setting I believe), or an automatic point light or a distant light.

I will have to make a dupe of that solid layer and have the lower one using the “point source” light type from the shatter options and the other using “first comp light” (my animated feature light).

    Regards,
    Graham
