Scrolling text is flickering/jittering
I’ve been looking a lot for this but can not find any solution.
I need to display for a specific screen a resolution of 3200×600 px.
The vidéo is quiet easy :a text is moving from right to left horizontaly with a constant speed.
I’ve tried to blur, I’ve tried to had expression :
[value[0], Math.floor(value[1])] + [0,0.5]But nothing do the job… The video is really jittering (lag). Actually it is quiete smooth but then it has some kind of flickering….
I’ve keep tryed with different video compression :
mp4, mov with or without field set….
I just have no clue 🙂
My computer is a big and strong MACBOOK PRO.
I’ve tried to rescale a video in HD to this format and there is no flickering. SO I’m pretty sure it is only my fault.Thank you a lot !

What’s the final output device and delivery requirements? I’m guessing 4 x 800×600 displays?

You may not be able to adequately test this in real time on your Macbook Pro, because your target display system is so different.
If you do a RAM preview of the comp in AE, is the motion smooth?

Quiet interesting.
In fact, yes the display will be 4 TFT in 800×600.
There is no problem with that.In RAM preview it is still jitering.

Does the Info panel indicate that it’s playing in realtime throughout?
Do any of the individual frames look wrong?
Any chance you can post a screen shot or a movie showing the problem?

In RAM preview, there is no problem, the text is scrolling but sometime (kind of always the same period) it flickers.

Thank you for posting the video — now I understand what you are talking about.
That’s a big move for a low frame rate, and unfortunately that stutter will be unavoidable.
It might help to crank up the motion blur by adjusting the shutter. Unlike a physical camera, you can use extreme values for the shutter to add more blur.
Another option is to explore playback at other frame rates. I see you’re working at 25 fps now; is 50 fps an option with your playback system?
