  I recently just purchased an Arrilight 1000 Watt Open Face light. The bulb I purchased was this https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=details_accessories&A=kitInfo&Q=&sku=122581&is=REG&friendly=General_Brand__DXW_Lamp_1000W_120V.html from b and h. For some reason when I installed the bulb and turn on the light, it begins to smoke. I bought a 650 watt fresnel and installed the bulb with no problems. Idk why this tungsten open face is giving me trouble. Any suggestions?

  Someone must have handled the globe with bare hands, depositing “hand grease” on it and causing it to burn. It’s a good policy to clean bulbs with alcohol and handle them in the installation with cloth or paper, but of course you knew that.

  I handled the bulb with a cloth when I put it in the lamp. I also after the first time it smoked up, cleaned the bulb with alcohol, but it is still smoking after doing this.
