Just read Kris Malkewitz’s Film Lighting book and loved it.
Can anyone suggest good companion books for lighting that would be a good next step?
Are there good magazines about lighting?

    Thanks,

Motion Picture and Video Lighting, Second Edition, by Blain Brown — lots of typos, and sometimes dense writing, but a thorough book. The textbook I assign to grad students studying lighting at the Academy.

Lighting for Digital Video & Television, Second Edition, by John Jackman — I have not read this book but currently evaluating it for an on-line lighting class; looks promising.

Lighting for Television & Film, Third Editiion, by Gerald Millerson. Encuyclopedic. British. Somewhat out of date but full of timeless information.

Matters of Light & Depth, by Ross Lowell
