You can either type or copy TC values into that column and then use it to AutoSync based on that TC value.

In most current situations, when timecode is used, both the camera and the sound recorder will record the same Time Of Day timecode, and then you can AutoSync using the Start TC value, and there’s no need to use AuxTC.

But imagine a situation where the camera is recording continous non-ToD timecode, but is recording a timecode signal on an audio channel. In that case, you can use Read Audio Timecode to read that channel and have MC feed the resulting value into the AuxTC column. If you then copy the ToD values from the sound’s StartTC into the AuxTC column, you can AutoSync using AuxTC.

Many more possible uses, of course.
