    Hi Guys,

I’ve recently leapt over to Avid 2019.6, and surprisingly enough cannot link or import some DNxHD 36 rushes.

Instead, I get a pop up that says

“Unable to link to file or volume. You may need to download & install the AMA plug-in from the Avid AMA website….”

Has anyone else experienced this? and how have you got around it without buying MXF plugins which Avid should already have installed in Media Composer?

    Thank you,

DNx36….meaning it’s ALREADY Avid media. IN this case, you put those files into the AvidMediaFiles folder>MXF>1…or 2…or empty numbered folder. Launch Avid…it’ll scan that folder. Then drag the .mdb file from that folder into a new bin.

Avid media can’t be linked to like camera masters or other media types. It has to be loaded this way, or with the Media tool
