Need to create a Raster size that is 1:1. That is to say — Square!
Posted by Ross Spears on March 24, 2019 at 7:36 pmI am using MC 8.8.5 on a project that is using images from old stereo cards. I would like to create a project that has a raster size of 1:!. How can I create that?
Thanks, Ross Spears

March 25, 2019 at 7:53 amCreate a new project. In the format tab choose custom and enter the Raster dimensions to create a square Raster.

March 26, 2019 at 4:11 amThanks, Pat, it worked! I created the custom raster, but now there is another problem. When I import an image into it, the result is totally out of focus. Every inch of the image is out of focus. What am I doing wrong??? The images that I am importing are very sharp to begin with. They are mostly PNG images, some are jpeg. I can import these images into an older MC project, but they are stretched in awkward ways (different raster).
Thanks, Ross

March 26, 2019 at 5:36 pmDear Pat,
Thanks for the suggestion. However, I do not see AMA link on any of my menus. Where is it? I am using MC 8.8.5.

March 26, 2019 at 6:06 pmSecond question to Pat: In previous work I used AMA to link with footage and then used to Transcode the footage. Is this the same process? What is Frame Flex anyway?
Thanks, Ross Spears

March 26, 2019 at 7:09 pmAMA link may just be called Link in the source browser under Input.
Once AMA linked you right click the cip and chose source settings and then Framflex. Framflex allows you to select the aspect and zoom of all the original source pixels (unlike import that’s lanes on ingest) yes you can transcode but you need to use the new DNxHR codec to retain Framflex contr.Pat Horridge
