  Strange interlaced exports

  I have tried exporting some DNxHD 185x 50i edited footage and found out a rather strange thing.

  When I import the footage back in (or into another editing progrem) on each cut I notice that there isn’t a full frame, but a frame is composed out of one frame and another frame that comes after it (in the shot after the cut). It looks as if there was double exposure on each frame.

  I notice that when I play the export in VLC as well. As if there was fade on each cut. If I convert the export in another format (also interlaced) and play it on tv hardware it all looks fine, but it seems strange to me that this is happening. Could it be normal?

  Also when I export in XDCAM mxf 50mbps 50 fields, interlaced and import it into another editing problem, there are no double exposed frames.

  Seems like a field dominance issue, or you are missing one field at the beginning.
  (No idea how this can happen though.)
  Afaik, all HD formats are upper field first, so no issue there…

  Can you be more specific on what you do?
