  AMA & KiPro Files

  I’m working with Media Composer 7. Previous projects with ProRez viles recorded on KiPro recorders have worked successfully with Avid. Today I have MXF files from a KiPro recorder. Avid is unable to like to them via AMA. I was able to successfully transcode the files to MXF (import).

  I’m considering moving to Media Composer 8.x. Do changes in MC solve this problem? Or should I ask for ProRez files. I had hoped that MXF from KiPro would be as easy to use as MXF files from EVS. No luck so far.

  Any help appreciated.

  I tried the MXF files thinking for some reason that would be better. I saved no time and only got headaches. I and my system loves ProRes – I would stay with that. MC v8 seems to work same as 7 in this regard.
