  Lost source file path and source file name

  For some reason a good deal of my clips have lost their source file name and source file path. Some of the clips in the bin have retained them. Any thoughts? I’m trying to do a conform by linking back to the original camera media via AMA, without the source though it wound link.

  If you lost the source name, i don’t know if there’s any way to relink. Because as you WELL know, there is no TAPE ID on tapeless media until you add it. So it goes by name and timecode. Missing the name, not sure how you can relink. Can you do it manually?

  Adding a tape name kills off source path and source name. Maybe somebody has tried to modify the clips.
  I presume you have kept daily backups of the project? So you shoukd be able to track back to a version tgat has got the source data intact. Export an ALE and merge import into the current projects bin.
  Thats why keeping backups is critical.
