    Hi,

I’m having trouble working with XDCAM EX footage. I’m using MC 8.6.

I’ve downloaded the Sony plugin and verified using the console AMA_lisplugin:

But in the source browser, it says it can’t be linked:

Right clicking doesn’t give me anything either:

When I try to link the footage anyway I get this:

    These are my link settings:

Additionally I’m having trouble with XDCAM EX files that I ingest into MC, it shows up as green:

    This is my import settings:

Thanks for any help and insight!

XDCAM files are not normally Quicktime .mov files. They usually are MXF files on the XDCAM disks. Did this files come from an FCP system (which converts them to .mov)?

It’s based on the camera settings which is recording to an SD card, not the typical SxS card. This is for a high school and the settings have worked for previous versions of AVID (MC 7 I believe). I’ll try recording with their camera to another format to see if a simple resolve would simply be to to avoid the XDCAM EX codec in a QT container.
