    Hi all

    I’ve installed a plug-in (Sony_PDZK-MA2_v.3.32) on multiple computers in order to make AVID compatible with footage from the Sony FS7. I’ve used some footage as a test to make sure it was all working (they were in an XAVC MXF format) and all but one worked. When I attempted to AMA-link to the footage, it just said; “There were errors AMA-linking to the footage” and nothing else.
    All the versions of AVID are the same (7.0.4), however I should point out that this computer in particular is on a different version of OS (Mavericks, 10.9.5) to the rest so my initial guess is that it probably has something to do with that. Does anyone have an idea on what might be causing this error that it won’t provide me any details about?

    Here is a screenshot of the console if that helps;

    Thanks

    It indicates you used Autodetect and suggests you select the AMA plug-in directly before linking.

    Hi Michael

    Sorry, I forgot to mention in my original post. In the files of type section I selected ‘Sony XAVC_XDCAM (*.mxf)’ for all the computers and I got the same result.

    Try deleting the AMA Management folder

    Windows: C:\Users\Public\Documents\Avid Media Composer\AMA Management
    Mac: HD/Users/Shared/AvidMediaComposer/AMA Management

    Sometimes errors will persist until you do this.

    Okay I will try that. Will AVID automatically reconstruct the folder or do I need to follow up this with another action to recreate it?

    It reconstructs. Its not terribly useful for most users anyway.

    That’s fixed it! Still none the wiser as to what the original error was but no matter, it works now.

    Thanks John.
