    Hello everybody,

My question is about AMA workflow

I’ve first did link to AMA, and Import for sound
    then did the sync.

should I do a transcode? someone told me I should do a transcode but it seems useless to me.

    what do you think?

AMA is just the way to ACCESS the media, and retain all the metadata for later. Avid doesn’t work well with Native media…some it will better than others, but it’s not designed to do so. Avid works best when you transcode. If this is a short project, with limited footage…you might be able to get away with it. But long form, not ideal, no. AVCHD, H.264 are the worse to try to work with via AMA. Native RED too. ProRes is OK…but still, Avid’s ideal workflow is to AMA link, transcode…then sync and edit.

    Hi Shane,

Perhaps a mistake have been made and the sync was made with link to AMA clips and imported sound.

Is there a need to fix it?

perhaps after offline editing, will it harm the online process?
