El Capitan & MC 8.4?
Posted by Daniel Schultz on December 22, 2015 at 3:49 pmRunning MC 8.4.0 on a macbook Pro Retina (OSX 10.8.5).
I was getting ready to upgrade my OS to the latest to access the latest Adobe upgrades, which are unavailable on my current OS.Any reason I should NOT do this, as far as Media Composer?
Many Thanks,
Dan S.

December 22, 2015 at 3:51 pmOkay…just read another post saying El Capitan is not authorized for MC 8.4.
So, with that said, which version of OSX should I upgrade to?

December 22, 2015 at 8:09 pmThat version of MC, and Adobe apps, all work well with 10.10.5, Yosemite. But actually GETTING Yosemite will be tricky. Unless you already downloaded the installer, but didn’t install it…Apple doesn’t make it available once they release the latest versions.

December 22, 2015 at 8:12 pmNope…that’s the standalone UPDATE to 10.10.5. YOu still need the base 10.10. Which isn’t available. This is why I always download, but never install, all the OS releases.

December 23, 2015 at 1:16 amSigh…yeah. I figured that out when I tried to install.
any chance you might be able to share your version of 10.10 in a dropbox folder?
(That is, if that’s kosher). -

December 23, 2015 at 3:20 amHmmm…not sure how to do that. I mean, I made an installer from that thing I downloaded, and then got rid of it. “et me dig…
