I have an Mpeg 2 file that is 9 hours long that I am attempting bring into avid. I get an error that I need an ama and it refers me to an expensive plugin. I then tried to transcode it using adobe media encoder but it crashes every time I try to transcode it to dnxhd 175.

Anyone know what Im running into here?

A highly complex file, maybe? MPEG 2 is highly compressed, and a 9 hour one…wow. If the Quicktime AMA plugin doesn’t cover it…hmmm…try MPEG STREAMCLIP. It’s free…and has MPEG in it’s name.
