Re-linking to a seperate drive.
Hi,
I am having trouble with something that is probably ridiculously simple.I have consolidated my c300 footage to my local drive and it works fine. I have taken those consolidated files and copied them to a separate drive. It is at the root level. I dont understand how to unlink the files in my bin from the files on my local drive and then reattach them to the separate drive. I have attempted to figure this out with tutorials but it has been useless.

To have it link to the other media, rename the Avid MediaFiles folder on your system drive…add a “z” at the front. Or the MXF folder to something else. Then Avid can’t see the media on the internal, and will link to it on the external

A similar idea to Shames.
First create a title and save it to the external drive. This will create the correct folder structure.
Make sure the media 1 folder copied from the local drive is renamed 2 and lives next to the 1 folder that was created with the new title.Pat Horridge

Oh and of course rename the avid mediafiles folder on the local drive until you have check the media move is ok. Then delete that local media.
