  Exporting to SD from Media Composer 8

  Just got on AVID and need to export to SD 720×486, and am having a hard time making the AVID do what I want. Following the steps of exporting and eventually creating a custom export, I am continually getting exports that are 1920×1080 even though I am asking for 720×486.

  What is the best way to get an HD file to export to an SD file, whether Letterbox or CenterCut?

  Did you switch your project to an SD format before trying?

  Yes i did, I switched it to 30i and still not getting what I am looking for. It just fits the file into the window and does crop. And even when I drop the 16:9 letterbox filter on it, it still doesn’t give me quality or size I am looking for.
