    Hi,

I’m thinking of upgrading from my 2008 2 x 2.8 Quad-Core Mac Pro to a new Mac Pro (trashcan). I’m obviously expecting a speed boost but I’m hearing that it’s not necessarily that fast running MC 7 right now.

Is it worth making the move to new hardware at the moment? I’m wondering if the speed increase I will see will make it worthwhile or not.

    Any help appreciated.

There is no speed bump with basic day to day editing. Rendering might be faster…as it always is with faster processors. But application reaction times aren’t sped up. It also launches must faster…that’s due to the SSD drive.

It’s rendering which is the biggie for me. The biggest slowdown I have in my online edits are having to wait for ‘pan and zoom’ rostrum shots to render.
