  Newbie question: Avid to Sorenson issues

  Hi there,
  total newbie question here…new to Avid and a new camera as well.
  (PMW-300 xdcam)

  Shooting xdcam on the Sony PMW-300. Most of my projects will be for direct upload to youtube.

  On my first edit attempt I was using AMA, but I had trouble sending the sequence to Sorenson. Export directly to Quicktime worked just fine, but I wasn’t happy with the result of uploading the quicktime file to youtube.

  On my second edit attempt, I didn’t bother with AMA and imported all of the clips. Seemed to go to Sorenson ok, however the result was audio only with a white screen.

  Is it my understanding that you must transcode the sequence before sending it to Soreneson?

  any help would be appreciated.
