  First time shooting for Avid ingest

  Hello

  I have a shoot where the client has requested avid-friendly files.

  I am shooting on a Canon C100 (records AVCHD) I also have a Canon 5D mk3 I am shooting as B camera.

  Your suggestions are very much appreciated.

  Well, both camera’s footage can be AMA’d and transcoded to Avid media, rather easily. Depending on the version of Avid they have. It’s not usual for someone to ask for footage to already be in an “Avid friendly” format. Just that the cameras used are compatible with their version of the software.

  What version are they running? If MC 5.5 or later, both will import fine. Although I think AVCHD in 5.5 wasn’t quite up to snuff yet.
