    Specs:

Mac Mini 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    Memory: 8GB 1067 MHz DDR3
    OS X 10.9.1
    Avid MC 7.0.3 TRIAL

Its trial until my box comes in a few days, maybe this glitch is because its a trial version, but everything else works fine.

Anyway I have the following project settings:

    Project Type: 1080P/23.976
    Aspect Ratio:16:9
    Color Space: YCbCr 709
    Raster Dimension: 1920×1080
    Stereoscopic: Off
Mask Margins: 2.40:1 (what they shot it at)
    (settings show up as top:12.96%, bottom:12.96%, left:0, right:0)

I hit apply on the mask margins and ok to close that dialogue.

now in both source and timeline windows I right click and select:

    Target Mask->Black Mask

    nothing at all 🙁

I tried it in Full Screen mode, and not in full screen mode. I tried to close and re-open the project after applying the mask margins

    nothing

    what am I missing here?

I’d love to get this working so i can stop putting a widescreen matte track over everything

    thanks!

I did notice that it worked on my PC based 7.0.3 system, but not on a Mac based system (7.0.2). I will try with 7.0.3 on a Mac to confirm whether it works there or not. In the meantime, you may want to try new user settings to see if that changes anything.

Maybe it has to do with the trial version somehow.

If it goes away when I plug the license in I’ll let you know. Otherwise I’ll just have to report the bug to avid
