  • Export Error “File wasn’t correctly named”

Posted by Daniel Schultz on June 2, 2013 at 1:37 pm

Working in MC 6.5.2 on a MacBook Pro Mountain Lion 10.8.3.

Suddenly a new error message seems to pop up when exporting to quicktime that I never saw before:
    “File wasn’t correctly named”

I tried quitting, opening a new project, exporting different types of videos, changing the name, leaving it the same (leaving in the .mov). Still get the error.

Any ideas why this is happening?

    THanks!

Not sure if this could be the cause, but I don’t think that 10.8.3 is certified for use on MC6.5.2 yet.

Well, I did a google search and found others had the same problem.
They solved it by changing the name of the folder the files was being saved INTO (not the name of the file they were exporting). It worked for them, and it worked for me. Quirky bug, but nothing too bad, I suppose.
