  Frame shift problem when converting tv show from 23.98 to 59.94.

  I’m working on a TV show that is shot and edited in 23.98.
  We do a Digital delivery that asks for 59.94 DVCPro.

  My process has been to (right click) modify the 23 sequence and modify it to 59.94 in avid.
  I then make a 59 project and open the newly made 59 sequence.

  When I open this new sequence I notice some of the images/video on layers 2 and above have shifted a frame or two from it’s original spot. Sometimes text also shifts. (ex. A g now looks like an o because the lower part of the g gets cut off)

  I then fix the Frame shifts, Mixdown the sequence to DVC PRO and export

  Is there another process anyone can recommend to me? or know why this is happening?

  While in your 23.98 project, duplicate your sequence and do a video mix down of the entire program.
  Replace the video in the duplicate sequence with your mixdown.

  Open a 59.94 project. Open the bin that contains the duplicate sequence that has the video mix down.
  Note that the video has a green dot on it, as Avid has added a motion adapter that will do the conversion to 59.94 on the fly. You can now do your export.

  Mix and match does not support Matte Key graphics, so you need to mixdown first in the 23.98 project.
