  DSLR Workflow

  I’m going to edit a web series that was shot on a Canon DSLR. I usually use FCP, so I have a few questions about the workflow in Avid.
  I know I’m supposed to use AMA to access the footage, but when do I sync the audio and the video? There are lavalier and boom mic sources.
  And, I read somewhere that after using AMA, I’m supposed to transcode the footage to DNxHD.
  But, it seems like right now, PluralEyes doesn’t take in DNxHD footage for autosync, so does that mean I have to sync manually?

  Once you transcode to DNxHD, import the audio assets (do not AMA the audio elements) and then follow the PluralEyes steps outlined for Avid; which is to create a sequence of your picture and sound assets in the timeline, export an AAF and open that in PluralEyes.

  Actually, that’s what I did first. I didn’t do any of the AMA stuff then. Somehow, Pluraleyes doesn’t take AAF files with DNxHD clips because when I made another AAF with non-transcoded MOV files straight from the camera, it worked.

  I’m transcoding to DNxHD 175 10-bit. Will that work?
