I am trying to insert edit a section of a 23.98 PsF sequence to a 23.98 PsF HD-CAM SR from AVID 6.5 and when I start the Digital Cut tool the TC its looking for jumps 15 minutes ahead. I have tried rebooting, different rooms, running through AJA, different users, same frame rates from a different project, different tape. AHHHH! What am I overlooking here? It must be a setting. The show was already rolled once. I am just inserting material.

Where does your master tc of your sequence start?

Im not at work right now so I can’t be too specific, but the way I do inserts is by marking the section I want in my timeline and use the digital cut tool without marking in and out points there in the tool. If you hover over the record button it will tell you what its going to do.

If you use Mark In Time in the Digital Cut, then you can set an in-point in your sequence, an out-point in your sequence, and type the timecode of the in-point on tape into the ‘in’ of the Digital Cut Tool. This should avoid any discrepancy with offsets as with this process you are creating the offset.
