  FORMAT/CODEC quicktime (animation RLE) to mpeg-2 loss of quality?

  hi

  i have a problem. i got some quicktime clips with animation(RLE) codec, and i have to put them together and export them as a mpeg-2(4:2:0 ITU-709) for broadcast (PAL 720×576 interlaced 16:9) in germany.

  my question:

  1. will i have quality loss? if i export the QT to the MPEG-2 ?
  2 if yes, would it be a lot? or minimal, so it won’t matter for
  broadcast?
  3. shull i ask for the quicktime clips as uncompressed? to then export them as MPEG-2?

  hope you can help!!! 🙂

  btw: how do i know if i should use upper or lower frame??? in this case, when i export?

  i have this software.

  and it is for broadcast, not a dvd.
