  • Can’t Link to AMA XDCAM file

    Hey,

I have XDCAM files from two days of shooting.
The first day media Linked to Avid with no problem.
The second day media clips is not linking.
When I try with Like to AMA Volume it I got message that it’s not find any clips.
When I try Link to AMA files I got message that there is an error linking to AMA.

Any other media linking with no problem.

All the media files (XDCAM files) are in the right folders.

I tried it with two computers with MC 5.0 and the other with MC 6.0. both got the same messeges.

    What Should I do?

    THANKS!

Check to see that there are no weird characters in the path. I generally avoid calling files and folders with names containing any characters other than numbers, letters, and underscores.

Aside from that, if it still doesn’t link, perhaps there is something missing in the folder structure. If you download Content Browser from Sony’s XDCAM site, check to see if it can parse the folders and show you your clips. If so, it often automatically rebuilds the structure. Then try link to volume again.

    Thank’s for the quick answer….
I tried every thing you said…
no matter what name I gave it, it did not link.
and the folders are in the right structure too…

    any other ideas?

Did you try Content Browser? At least that would tell if the files are correct and not corrupt. If you can play them there, then there’s definitely an issue with the AMA linking. Also check and make sure you have the current AMA plugin version.
