    Hello everybody,

so, I’ve got a project on AVID that’s being worked on by myself and my editing partner, who is in Germany. We swap bins and sequences. Now, we’re stringing together what we’ve got of the movie into one large sequence, but we’re experiencing a bunch of sound problems, with the sound being out of sync or the subclips aren’t linking to the sound clips.

This seems to be related to the “.new” add-on that’s being found on most of the problematic sound files.
Could I get some help finding out why this is happening and how to fix it?

I can tell you that there was a time (this being my first AVID project) where I accidentally Batch imported some files, instead of relinking. The problem most likely has arisen from that, but I still have no clue what to do about it.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

.new files are created by transcoding or consolidating an existing masterclip or subclip or even sequence somewhere in the process. This “shouldn’t” affect sync, but certainly could affect audio being offline on one system or another as the process creates new media that may not be available on both systems.
