    Hi Guys

I’m new Avid Media Composer 6 and i’m hsving problems capturing footage i’ve connected my JVC Cam corder to my computer using a 4 pin firewire cable the capture tool window is saying no source tape selected and no deck. Ive looked in the help section of avid and it says you have to configure the deck by verifying that you have manually configured the approiate hardware connections for the deck.

How do i do that? can anyone help me please?

Create a project with the settings that match what you will be capturing. Attach the camera via firewire, turn it on.

In the project, click on the SETTINGS tab. Choose DECK CONFIGURATION.

Click ADD CHANNEL. Choose FIREWIRE. It should see the camera. I wish I had a firewire camera to go further than this, but I don’t. This gets you started at least.
