Hi, not sure if i’m right about this, but to me it seems fcp didn’t access superwhite info from for example the ex-3 camera. I had to go into color or resolve and there was another 10% info in the highlights. Now i’m grading a show in avid and there’s a sequence with overexposed material, but it’s shot on ex-3 hence i’m thinking there’s more info than what i see. New to avid so don’t know much, but using lates version of symphony. The footage is imported as mxf – so does this retain the super white info? And can i access it in symphony?

The picture is not being converted or transcoded, color levels will be maintained. So whatever there was in the source file, you will have inside MC/SY. So any luma values from 235-255 will be there, and you can use the CC mode to bring them down or stretch them out.
