  Media Composer 6 on Mountain Lion?

  I need to upgrade from MC 5.5 and Leopard to MC 6 and Lion. But with Mountain Lion to be released soon, should I wait for it? Or maybe Mountain Lion will have an incompatibility with MC6. So maybe upgrade to Lion and wait for Mountain Lion problems to calm down. Any thoughts?

  Just go to Lion and wait for Avid to approve Mountain Lion. I don’t even think Lion 10.7.4 is approved yet so Mountain Lion certainly isn’t.

  That is what I am inclined to do…except I have to do this on 25 MC edit stations.
  I really don’t want to do this twice.

  There’s no telling how long it will take to approve Mountain Lion, though. Might be a couple weeks after the release or a couple months if there are issues. You could stay on 5.5 until Mountain Lion is approved then do a mass upgrade. Are there MC6 features you really need right now?

  In that case, I’d definitely wait for Mntn Lion to ship (this month, looks like?) and then wait for the feedback from people to see if it plays nicely with MC6.
