  7D image sequences into MC6 in native resolution.

  When importing a sequence of images of a time lapse from a 7D, MC6 conforms the native resolution to that specified by the timeline, therefore not allowing for effects based pans and zooms. Importing individual stills retain their resolution, however being individual frames. FC handles this fine, but we can’t work out a solution in MC6, any suggestions?

  Pan & Zoom is the only method within Avid to access higher than HD resolution media and is for single stills only. All other “movie” clip media is scaled to project size upon import. There might be third party plug-ins that allow this such as Boris, but I don’t know off the top of my head.

  Avid really isn’t the best tool for this. It converts stills to your project resolution and dimensions. As Michael stated, you can use Avid pan and zoom, but for this sort of thing it will be very clunky. You can also do it in AvidFX (Boris Red), but it’s also going to be clunky.

  You’ll probably be way better off with FCP or premiere for this one. N
