  Avid MC 6.01 Crashes when scrubbing through Audio. Any Ideas?

  Hi All

  when i attempt to scrub through imported Audio in my Avid project i get the spinning wheel of deat then it crashes.

  I can play the Audio files in Avid, i can also play camera Audio and scrub through camera audio files in Avid,

  But when i try to scrub through the imported Audio Avid crashes. It crashes soon as i press caps lock and press play.

  The system freezes up, with spinning wheel of death.

  Eventually i get the following Error:

  Exception:Aplayer::NotifyStopStatusCallbacks returned AME_NOTIFYSTATUS_RESULT_FAIL

  Then after i press ok i get the good old “Bus sgmentation thread” Error

  Have tried various Audio Import settings Have the same problem.

  Origional File Format: .WAV Linear PCM, 24 bit little-endian signed integer, 2 channels, 96000 Hz

  Anybody have any ideas why this could be happening?

  It’s a bug with Blackmagic and Matrox. If there is no associated video, you can’t scrub.

  I’ve tried various workarounds, such as making a multichannel group clip with some random video to get around it. Very annoying, to say the least.

  The previous post should say “multicam group clip” not multichannel. Damn auto correct.

  Hi John

  Thanks for your reply, Glad its not just me with this problem.
  It does seem to be a bug between Avid and Matrox, I’ve uninstalled the Matrox driver then the scrubbing works, I reinstall the Matrox driver then it crashes Avid.
  Quite annoying, I posted the problem in the Matrox forums too, and Matrox support are looking into it, hopefully we can find some resolve.

  Yes. The bug affects Matrox and Blackmagic hardware, but apparently not AJA.

  Contact Matrox and Avid. I’m sure they know, as it’s been discussed on the official Avid forum, but it won’t hurt to keep piling on..its a real annoying bug.

  had this happen to me today. i do not have a Matrox box nor anything from Blackmagic.

  Avid 6.0.1
  OSX 10.8.2
  Mac Mini3,1
  4gb RAM
